A new step has just been taken in Equinor’s assistance project to reduce GHG emissions from its Johan Sverdrup oil field.

 

Following the recent commissioning of the ABB replica, the SIEMENS replica has now been installed. The JS real-time HVDC lab is now complete and interaction simulations will be starting soon.

These replicas will ensure that the HVDC links supplying the plateforms in electricity from shore will operate safely, avoiding the use of offshore gas turbines.
